Supras at Supra

JOIN US FOR OUR NEXT “MEET THE WINEMAKERS” SUPRA DINNER!
WHAT’S A “SUPRA”?
A “supra” is a celebratory feast, featuring tons of food, plenty of wine, and toasts courtesy of a ‘tamada,’ sort of a super-toastmaster in charge of keeping the party going. (See above for a classic painting of a supra by the great Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani. Ours will be a little more informal - and coed!)
HOW CAN YOU EXPERIENCE A SUPRA WITHOUT FLYING ALL THE WAY TO TBILISI (NOT THAT THAT’S NOT A GREAT IDEA)?
Easy! Join us at Supra on March 22 for our next ‘Meet the Winemakers’ Dinner! We’ll be hosting pioneering Kakhetian winemaker Giorgi ‘Gogi’ Dakishvili (Orgo, Dila-o, Dakishvili Family Wines) and west-Georgian winemaker Gvantsa Abuladze (Baia’s/Gvantsa’s Wines) for a wine dinner led by Mamuka Tsereteli, Founder of Georgian Wine House, and Supra Owner Jonathan Nelms.
We’ll have five courses, paired with wines made by Gogi & Gvantsa. These range from Gvantsa’s smooth & sparkly white pét-nat to Gogi’s rare Port-style dessert wine with traditional reds and ambers in between, each thoughtfully chosen to complement its pairing. You will have the chance to buy more of their wines, at a discount, after the dinner!
PProf. Tsereteli will lead the dinner, serving as ‘Tamada,’ the traditional toastmaster/emcee of any Georgian supra.
HOW DO I GET IN ON ONE?
Just buy a ticket! (See below.) Your $156 ticket (plus tax) covers everything for the feast, including all food, wine, and desserts. Come with friends and make more at our supra table!
WHEN’S THE NEXT ONE?
March 22, Sunday, at 6 pm!
